Caliber Collision Centers | Rebranding

Challenge: This franchise organization, consisting of 21 Southern California-based auto collision repair facilities, was dealing with slow growth.

Objective: Gain market share by increasing the consumer-direct business and building an insurance company referral program.

Execution: We innovated Caliber’s business model, taking it from a simple franchise organization to a preferred provider of insurance companies. We put several initiatives into play, including:

  • Establishing an affiliate body shop program to attract existing shops and quickly expand the business
  • Developing a new corporate message that reinforced the company’s quality work and lifetime guarantee with the tagline, “The Guarantee of Excellence”
  • Creating a new design and standardizing the look of all shop interiors and exteriors
  • Producing fresh collateral with new branding
  • Directing an aggressive public relations campaign to investors nationally and the insurance industry through trade publications

Results: Affiliate program expanded to more than 120 shops in California and Texas; consumer direct and insurance referral business increased; $10M in venture capital was raised.
